This veteran tugboat was built in 1921 as the Oregon for the Great Lakes Towing Company in their Cleveland, Ohio yard. In 1952 she was converted from steam to diesel power. She was sold to the North Central Maritime Corp. of Duluth, Minnesota in 1978 and renamed Ste. Marie I. North American Towing of Duluth acquired the tug in 1981, and renamed her as the Sioux. In 1992 she was sold to the Egan Marine Company of Lemont, IL, who renamed her as the Susan E. The Hannah Marine Corporation of Lemont eventually acquired the tug. The Zenith Tugboat Company of Duluth, MN purchased the tug in 2005, and changed her name back to Sioux. In 2010, Zenith went out of business, and the tug was put up for sale. She was eventually sold to Purvis Marine Limited of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

The Sioux remained laid up at Purvis’s yard and was never registered in Canada. She was cut up for scrap in Sault Ste. Marie in 2016.
