This small tug was built in 1952 by Russel Brothers as the W.J. Balcom for the Canada Minister of Transport for service in northern Canada. In 1963, she was acquired by the National Harbours Board and renamed Beaupré for work in Quebec, QC. When the port was privatized, the tug was transferred to the Port of Quebec (now the Quebec Port Authority). In 2011, the Beaupré was acquired by Meridien Maritime of Matane, QC. She is now registered as a pleasure craft.
