The small tug Tender 9 was built in 1928 in Erie, Pennsylvania by American Boiler Works for the State of New York, and has worked its entire life on the New York State Barge Canal. The tug is currently under the banner of the New York State Canal Corporation, and was removed from service in the mid-to-late 2010s. The Tender 9 is currently laid up in Lockport, New York.
