This classic tug was built in 1953 by the Canadian Dredge & Dock Company as Stormont for the Ontario Minister of Transport. In 1964 she moved to the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority, where she retained her name. She was sold to McKeil Marine in 1976. In 2012, she was transferred to Nadro Marine of Port Dover, Ontario. She was transferred back to McKeil Marine Ltd. in 2014.

The Stormont works with the barge Lac St. Jean as the truck ferry that operates between Detroit, MI and Windsor, ON.
