This large ASD-drive oceangoing tug was built in 1993 by Imamura Shipbuilding as Mai Po for Hong Kong Towing & Salvage. She was later sold to Swire Pacific Offshore and renamed Pacific Tempest. In 2013 she was acquired by McKeil Marine of Hamilton, ON, who brought the tug to Canada and renamed her Sharon M I.
The Sharon M I is active in the dry bulk and general cargo trades on the Great Lakes, pushing the barge Huron Spirit.
