This tug was built in 1979 by Modern Marine Power of Houma, Louisiana as the articulated tugboat Sea Eagle for Sea Coast Towing. In 1981 she was sold to Canmar and renamed Canmar Sea Eagle. St. Marys Cement of Toronto, Ontario acquired the tug in 1991, and renamed her Sea Eagle II.
Sea Eagle II is paired with the self-unloading cement barge St. Marys Cement II. She is mated to the barge with a Bludworth coupler system. The pair carries powdered cement and cement clinker and can be found in ports on Lake Ontario and Lake Erie.
