This classic canal tug was built in 1934 in Syracuse, New York as the Reliable for the State of New York. She was originally steam-powered but later converted to diesel. The tug remained in service for the New York State Canal Corporation until being retired in the 1990s or 2000s. The Reliable remained inactive until 2018, when it was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef in the Atlantic Ocean off Long Island.
