This large Joe Hack-designed tug was built by Gulfport Shipbuilding in 1964 as the Katherine Clewis for Gulfcoast Transit. She was Gulfport’s hull no. 596. She worked on saltwater with dry bulk barges under Gulfcoast. In 1996, Andrie Inc., of Muskegon, MI, purchased the tug and placed her in Great Lakes Service working with tank barges. She was renamed Rebecca Lynn by Andrie that year.

Today, the twin screw Rebecca Lynn works with the tank barge A-397, taking most of her loads out of Detroit, MI to places such as Sarnia, ON, Monroe, MI, Toledo and Cleveland, OH, Tonawanda, NY, and Hamilton, ON.
