This classic tug was built in 1943 as the Bessie for the Maritime Oil Transport Company. In 1947 she was sold to the Chesapeake Lighterage Company and renamed C.L. No. 2. She was eventually acquired by the Geo. Gradel Company of Toledo, OH and renamed Pioneerland.

Pioneerland is active in the dredging and construction trades for Gradel around Lake Erie.
