Based in Quebec City, Ocean is a leader in marine services in Eastern Canada. Ocean has ship-docking tugs based in the ports of Goderich, Hamilton, Montreal, Sorel, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Baie Comeau, Port Cartier, Sept-Iles, and the Baffinland Iron Mine in Nunavut. They also operate one of Canada’s largest dredging and construction fleets, active around the St. Lawrence Seaway and Canada’s east coast. Ocean also provides pilotage services along the St. Lawrence Seaway, and owns a full-service shipyard in Ile-aux-Coudres, Quebec. Other services include salvage operations, and marine transportation services by tug and barge. Ocean’s tug fleet consists of a large number of small tugs and workboats used in the dredging fleet, as well as large twin screw and Z-drive tugs used for ship docking, towing, transportation, and salvage.

In 2018, Ocean began providing ship-docking and towing services in Kingston, Jamaica, and in 2019 they began tug operations on Canada’s west coast in Vancouver, BC. The tugs stationed in Jamaica and British Columbia will not be included in the “current tugs” section of this page.
