Built by Christy Corp. of Sturgeon Bay, WI in 1960, this tug was delivered to the U.S. Navy as the YTB-753 Marin. The Marin was retired by the Navy in 1994, and was sold civilian, retaining the original name Marin. Basic Marine purchased the tug in 2006, and brought it to their Escanaba, MI yard for reconstruction and re-activation. However, Basic acquired the newer Kozoil the following year, and the Marin instead became a parts source.

Marin now sits idle in Escanaba, among the rest of Basic’s fleet of old, retired tugs.
