This large tug was built in 1972 by Main Iron Works of Houma, LA as the Miss Lynn for the Fonteneau and Smith Boat Company. In 1978, she was sold to Newpark Marine and renamed Newpark Sunburst. Gulf Fleet Marine acquired the tug in 1983, and her name was changed to Gulf Tempest. Zapata Gulf Marine merged with Tidewater Marine in 1992, and the tug was renamed Atlantic Tempest. Shortly after, Turecamo Maritime purchased the Atlantic Tempest, and she was renamed once more to Catherine Turecamo. She was sold to Moran Towing in 1998, and retained her name. Calumet River Fleeting of Chicago, IL purchased the tug in 2014, and she was renamed John Marshall.
