Frederick T. Kellers

This classic tugboat was built in 1898 by David Bell of Buffalo, NY as the Harvey D. Goulder for L.P. & J.A. Smith. In 1899 she was acquired by the newly-formed Great Lakes Towing Company of Cleveland, OH. In 1917 she was requisitioned by the U.S. Shipping Board. She was transferred to the U.S. Army Quartermaster Department in 1920 and renamed A.T.S. Tug No. 7. She was sold civilian to U.S. Steel’s Michigan Limestone Division in 1922 and renamed Frederick T. Kellers. In 1953 she was purchased by the American Tug & Transit Company. The Frederick T. Kellers was scrapped in 1994.
