This tugboat was built in 1963 by Port Weller Drydocks as the C.E. Ted Smith for Dominion Tar & Chemical Co. In 1969 she was acquired by the Toronto Port Authority of Toronto, ON and renamed Fred Scandrett the following year. In the late 2000s she was removed from service.

Fred Scandrett remains laid up in Toronto.
