This canal tugboat was built in 1957 by Jakobson Shipyard as the Frances Turecamo for Turecamo Maritime. In 1998, she was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation. She was eventually retired and sold to Steven Tureman, and later passed to the North River Tugboat Museum. In 2012, the New York State Marine Highway Transportation Co. purchased the tug, renamed her Frances, and restored her to operation for commercial service.

Frances is active in barge transportation throughout the New York canal system, ranging as far as New York City on one end and Lake Ontario on the other.
