Great Lakes Towing Company’s Florida was built at their Cleveland, OH yard in 1926 and was their Hull No. 55. In 1955 the Florida was converted to diesel power. In 1983 she was renamed Pinellas for work in Tampa, FL, but was renamed Florida the following year and returned to Great Lakes service. Today the Florida is based in Chicago, IL, and provides ship assist services as needed.
