This “tug” was built in 1961 by the Marinette Marine Corporation of Marinette, Wisconsin as the carferry Drummond Islander II. For many years the ferry provided service between De Tour, Michigan and Drummond Island on the St. Marys River. Upon retirement, the ferry was sold to MCM Marine of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, who use the vessel as a tug for towing dredges and scows during and between dredging projects.
