Danielle E

This small tug was built in 1945 by Sturgeon Bay Shipbuilding of Sturgeon Bay, WI as the ST-929 for the U.S. Army. In 1946 she was transferred to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and renamed Heron. In 1962 she was sold to H.G. Harders & Son Inc. and renamed Heidi. She was acquired by Canonie Inc. in 1965 and renamed James Edward. She was rebuilt with a retractable pilothouse for river service. Egan Marine of Lemont, IL eventually purchased the tug and renamed her David E. She was renamed Brandon E in 1996, and eventually went into lay-up. Her name was eventually changed again, to Danielle E.

The veteran Danielle E remains in long-term lay-up in Lemont, IL.
