This small tug was built in 1951 by Mathieson Boat Works as the Chuckie Joe. She was eventually acquired by Thousand Island Marine Construction of Gananoque, ON, where she retained her name. She is currently owned by Huron District Contracting of Goderich, ON.

Chuckie Joe is active in the dredging and construction trades out of Goderich.

This was my dads tugboat – he was the original owner – his company was the Island Freight Company and it worked out of the Toronto Harbour – it was named after my brother who died in 1951 of leukemia at the age if six – my dad’s name was Carl Watts and my name is Carl Watts Jr – if you would like to get a hold of me call 905 471 3950.
