This large tug was built in 1981 by Modern Marine Power of Houma, LA as the Perserverance. She was sold in 1983 and renamed Mr. Bill G. Tidewater Offshore purchased the tug in 1990, renaming her as the El Rhino Grande. Dann Ocean Towing of Tampa, FL acquired the El Rhino Grande in 1997. She was renamed Stephen Dann at this time. In 2015, she was purchased by Ashton Marine LLC, of Muskegon, MI, and renamed Candace Elise.
