This large tug was built in 1969 by Gulfport Shipbuilding of Port Arthur, TX as the Esso Oranjestad for Esso Petroleum. In 1985 her name was shortened to Oranjestad, and the following year was changed to San Nicolas. In 1987 she was acquired by Newfoundland Marine Energy and renamed San Nicolas I. In 1988 she was renamed Bonnie B III. McKeil Marine of Hamilton, Ontario purchased the tug in 1999. In 2010, she was placed in lay-up in Hamilton, where she remains today.
