This large tug was built in 1969 by J. Boel En Zonen in Temse, Belgium as Sea Lion. In 1997 she was acquired by Three Rivers Boatmen of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec and renamed Avantage. In 2002 she was acquired by Ocean Group of Quebec, QC, where she retained her name.
After a lengthy career of towing and ship-docking, the Avantage was retired from service in 2018, and remained laid up until 2022 when the tug was sold to BK Marine Inc. of Georgetown, Guyana and renamed Kane G.
