Alice E

This large towboat was built in 1950 by the St. Louis Shipbuilding & Steel Company as the L.L. Wright for Martin Oil. In 1955, she was renamed Martin. Meljoy Transportation acquired the tug in 1962. She was sold to the Janey Towing Company in 1973, and leased to General Intermodal Logistics in 1974, where she was renamed Mary Ann. She was renamed Judi C in 1977 upon being acquired by Wilkerson Barge Line. Garvey Marine purchased the vessel in 1993. In 1994, she was acquired by Egan Marine of Lemont, IL and renamed Alice E.

Alice E is active in the transportation trade on the Illinois River system, including in the Chicago area.
